The Looking Glass Wars
by: Frank Beddor
This book is 358 pages long, not to mention the picture section or timeline. It is filled to the brim with intense action, cool characters, and a forgotten love. The Looking Glass Wars is a spectacular, twisted up version of Lewis Carroll's, Alice in Wonderland. But that story is merely a myth while this story tells the truth.
Alyss Heart is princess of Wonderland ruling under her parents, Queen Genevieve and King Nolan. She has a crush on the head of palace security's son, Dodge Anders. Just when her life is going swell, her seventh birthday rolls around. At this age, Alyss is to learn how to rule as queen. She thinks that it won't be too hard but hard isn't the problem. Her evil Aunt Redd has come to steal the kingdom from Genevieve and Nolan's hands. Alyss must then flee from Wonderland with her bodyguard Hatter Madigan. They jump from their world to ours. Meanwhile, Redd is queen and no one can stop her evil doings.
There is more to the story but I don't want to ruin it for any kids who might read it. Overall I absolutely LOVED this book. I would recommend it to anyone who likes suspenseful and exciting stories. If it were out of five stars I'd give twenty! This book is a must-read if you ask me. A phenomenal masterpiece!
