The Last of The Mohicans

The book, "The Last of the Mohicans," by James Fenimore Cooper, tells the story of two men, enemies on opposite sides of a war, who form a bond of friendship. Part of the Great Illustrated Classic collection, it is about the French and Indian War fought between the French and the British for control of the New World. A French soldier Major Duncan Heyward and a Mohican tribe member, Chingachgook, believed that skin color didn't matter and wanted peace. This book is creatively written in describing the scenes of the war, and is very interesting to read. However, be prepared for all the fighting, violence and killing. I was so interested in the story that I wish they would make a series of these books so I could find out what happened to the characters after the book ended. Clearly, it is a must-read for anyone who enjoys adventure books
